Jack and the Beanstalk and our Garden...

A week or so ago we planned our super-duper garden and decided upon a Jack and the Beanstalk theme.  We made a call out to our classroom community and were given lots of great things for our garden - a birdhouse, seedlings and donations of clothing and straw for our scarecrow.  On Friday during discovery we got busy and started planting seeds to grow into seedlings for our garden, and stuffing our scarecrows legs.

Planting bean seeds ...
We are experimenting with planting seeds in icecream cones!  Mrs P saw this idea online and it seems pretty neat.  You plant the seed in the cone and nurture it into a seedling, then plant the seedling,  still in the cone, straight into the ground.  Neat, huh?  Watch our posts to see how they turn out...

During discovery, we enjoyed doing some fun Jack and the Beanstalk colouring in pages and mazes; using the computers (with help from our senior Digikids, Ansh and Matthew) and the KidPix application to make pictures; writing postcards, and our very popular cars, animals and construction...

Cars, trucks and things that go...
Can you spot the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk?
